Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Research has shown the benefits parental and community engagement have in schools and how it is one of the most consistent predictors of student academic achievement and social adjustment. In this interactive two-day institute, participants will consider their diverse community interests and needs as they examine research and evaluate their present activities' and programs' effectiveness. Groundwork for strategic planning that focuses on goals and measurable objectives for implementation in the schools and community to support student achievement will be initiated. The MS PTA and National Institute for School Leadership & PTA Training is hosting an Advocacy Training at the Jackson Medical Mall located at 350 W Woodrow Wilson Ave, Jackson, MS 39213. This event will be June 25-26, 2018 from 8:00-5:00 pm in the media room. The cost of this training is $700.00 per person. Mississippi Congress of Parents and Teachers Association Year-End Local PTA Units Compliance Requirement Closeout Check List Ending June 30, 2018 1. Have you sent in new board officers lists for 2017-2018 to MSPTA State Office 2. If you haven't register with the Secretary of State Please do so ASAP 3. Prepare for your year end audit for 2017-2018 that will be due by June 30, 2018. 4. If you have not filed your unit 990 please do so by the deadline: June 30, 2018. Send a copy of your unit 990 to MSPTA State Office 5. All membership dues collected for 2017-2018 must be sent to the MSPTA State Office posted marked by June 30, 2018.
