Mississippi College- and Career-Ready Standards
What Educators and Administrators Need to KnowImplementation of the Mississippi College and Career Ready Standards (MCCRS) marked a change in instructional practice for educators across the state. The standards require teaching to a greater depth on a fewer number of topics in each grade. Specifically, students are required to master more critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Understanding this transformational shift in public education in Mississippi, teachers and school and district leaders have received comprehensive training on implementation of the standards to develop a deep understanding of what they require. The MDE will continue to provide training and information on resources to assist with the effective implementation of the Mississippi College and Career Ready Standards.
